We helped them build Denmark’s only climbing park constructed exclusively with through-bolting – ensuring optimal protection of the trees.
Developed, designed, and built by GoAdventure
GoMonkey Søndermarken is a unique project. The romantic garden is under the Danish Agency for Culture and Palaces, and with its preservation focus, the construction took place in close dialogue with them.
GoAdventure approached the task with attention to method and with an eye toward creating as many activities as possible within the small area. Søndermarken is a protected royal garden, so the climbing park had to be built as gently as possible. Everything was constructed using specially made tabs installed through drilling, making use of the tree’s natural healing process. We worked closely with some of the country’s leading arborists to find the perfect solution, and even had a full report made on the trees’ health to ensure our footprint on nature was as small as possible.
We loved the idea from the start and were glad to support GoMonkey with everything from planning, budgeting, and design to the actual installation. Even though the site is small, we made the most of the heights and created courses on multiple levels, strengthening the business model for the company.
