Stavanger in Norway

AIR by Bolder wanted to attract a broad target group to the world of climbing, and be a meeting place and go-to company for adventurous visitors all year round. That’s why they needed an indoor wonderland. AIR by Bolder had towering ambitions and has now succeeded in their project.

In collaboration with Unisport, GoAdventure has completed a vast climbing and activity hall in Stavanger, which is Norway’s fourth largest city. Here, AIR by Bolder can now offer all their indoor experiences as part of the Tvedtsenteret.

The task was to integrate a giant climbing wall with a netting landscape, high rope courses and a fairly challenging via ferrata. All in an aesthetic look that had to motivate visitors to explore the whole thing.

We approached the task with a requirement for ourselves to think about all the dimensions of the hall. All horizontal surfaces and vertical levels had to be utilised to the max.

We solved the task by erecting a 20-metre tall climbing wall and installing cable cars and climbing elements that meander under the ceiling of the 21-metre tall building. As a link and for optimal utilisation of the large empty space, we installed trampoline boxes and netting corridors, which thanks to their soft material would break up the hard wooden surfaces.

The project required very precise calculations and scaling to utilise the entire space. In several places, the climbing lanes move in through the climbing wall, allowing visitors to see the climbing wall from the inside.

AIR by Bolder has been uncompromising in their choices and has gone all out on adventure building. We are grateful to have been chosen as a collaboration partner for the job, and we are enormously proud of the result.
